Jan P. Muchow
Producer, musician and composer.
In 1991 he founded The Ecstasy Of Saint Theresa (EOST), a band with which he has been connected to this day. In the first half of the 1990’s, EOST became the first post-revolutionary performer from the Czech Republic, who signed a professional recording contract with a foreign label and historically the first Czech pop music band to rank in the British and American sales charts. Jan is also a member of Umakart.
Besides his bands he is often sought after by other artists as a music producer (e.g. Kryštof, Charlie Straight, Načeva, Barbora Poláková, Aneta Langerová and Priessnitz) or as a remixer, among others for the English act Placebo.
He holds multiple Anděl Awards of the Czech Music Academy in various categories: Album of the Year, Composition of the Year, Discovery of the Year and Best Soundtrack.
In 1996, he starred in the main male role in David Ondříček’s movie Šeptej (Whisper), for which he also composed the music. Since then he has composed music for more than 20 feature and medium-length films. His film music has won him four Czech Lions (Czech Film Academy Awards).
Jan is a member of the European Film Academy (EFA).
